Day 52 – Monday 3rd March
2014 – At Sea
It was
difficult in the gym and sauna this morning, as the weekend in Sydney had taken
its toll.
The rest of
the morning was very leisurely; attempting to join the line dancing class was
too much of a struggle, as the ballroom was full, as they tried to go through
the steps while packed in like sardines.
The
cha-cha-cha was more achievable but the Japanese were also here in force. We managed to get through the lesson and my
dance partner Edwina, introduced me to her daughter Deborah, who had flown out
to Sydney yesterday from the UK, but had not made it to dinner, as she was
jet-lagged.
In the late
afternoon managed to go on Deck 9 and enjoy once more the sun’s rays.
At dinner,
Avril from New Zealand brought along a bottle of champagne for us all, as she
was leaving the ship tomorrow. Along
with the wine, it went down very well, as I enjoyed, prawns/aubergine
salad/Sydney mussels/Jamaican chocolate cake.
The mussels were fabulous, about twice the size as you get in the UK.
The theatre
show was given by ‘The Leading Men’, all gifted performers, who had all played
leading roles in Australia’s musicals.
The show was brilliant, they performed individually, but when together
the blend of their voices was unbelievable, and deservedly received a standing
ovation.
A great day
on board; tomorrow another port.
