Day 83 – Thursday 3rd
April 2014 – At Sea
Back into
the dance lessons and progressed with the quickstep certainly taken a liking to
this one.
We received
an invitation; as we have now moved up to platinum status on our world voyage,
to a wine tasting session given by the restaurants sommeliers (wine
waiters).
At 14.00, we duly assembled
and formed into two groups and were shown four different wines, two white and
two red. We were given the history and
merits of each wine and asked our opinion.
All of the wines were from Argentina, so the ship’s wine cellar must not
be selling much of this. There was only
one wine which was of any note, and we left not too impressed.
The evening
cocktail was Malibu surf, consisting of coconut rum, vodka, blue curacao, shaken
with pineapple juice.
It was my
turn to order the wine tonight, as with Colin, we make our own choice on
alternate nights and our wine waiter, Goran, keeps us right on our choice. With the dinner, I ordered the best of the
Argentine wine, we had this afternoon, and I hope this helped to reduce the
stocks.
Star gazing
tonight was a greater success, seeing all together, the Plough, Pole Star and
Southern Cross and the constellation of Orion lying on its side.
Went to bed
happy, being able to see my favourite parts of the night sky, all together.
