Day 79 – Sunday 30th March
2014 – At Sea
Awake 07.00,
feeling washed out, coughing and barking with my tongue twice the size as
normal. Showered and taking on plenty of
liquids reduce the tongue but I had succumbed to the Cunard air conditioning
bug.
Spending
most of the time on deck either dosing or reading; I found the ship had changed,
as in Hong Kong we disembarked 1400 passengers and took on just as many, so the
ship is still full.
In the
afternoon, we passed through the Hainan Strait between the Chinese island of
Hainan and the mainland. It was blowing
a full gale from the south west with lots of ships passing through the strait,
and of course, many fishing boats to keep the navigators on their toes.
The bug
turned into a heavy head cold, and I only managed a bowl of soup in Lido before
going to bed at 21.00.
Hope to feel
some improvement, for arriving in Vietnam in the morning.
